Renew Your Mind

Rom 12:1,2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Man consists of body and soul, Gen. 2:7; Eccl. 12:7.
God says Be ye Holy for I Am Holy.
First, We Must Surrender Ourselves To God. If our hearts are not surrendered to
God, then we will not submit or surrender our bodies to Him in Holiness.
God is a Spirit, and we must worship God in Spirit and in Truth.
Here the Apostle Paul is saying that by the very mercies of God we are to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, then he states that
this is our reasonable service.
It is truly through the mercy of God, that we are not destroyed. God is Holy and
apart from His Mercy and Grace He will not deal with our sins.
In order for God to deal with our sinful nature without outright destroying us is
through Mercy and Grace. God's mercy allows us a chance to conform to His Will for
us, through Grace.
He freely gives us a chance to present ourselves in total submission and surrenderment to Him. This submission and surrender must be presented with a
heart that is ready to be changed from a sinful state to that of Holiness.
God will never force us to surrender to Him. This must be a free will self enactment of a sacrifical offering made to Him. Jesus paid the price for our sins when He became a sacrifice for us. It is the acknowledging of our sins being fully paid for, that we can come to God fully ready to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto Him.
The body must also be destroyed to sin, meaning that we are not to render our bodies
as instruments to sin and sinful acts. (our flesh is sinful)
Not only must we not yield our bodies to sin, we must also be renewed in our minds.
Our minds must be stayed upon God. We must meditate on the Holy Scriptures. The
Word of God cleanses us from the filthiness of the flesh. We must renew our minds
on a daily basis so that we will not yield our bodies to sin.
When we allow ourselves to be submitted and surrendered unto God, we become open for
God to fill our temples with the Spirit of God. We can then present our bodies holy
and acceptable unto God which is our reasonalbe service.
Just as Jesus Christ who gave His life for us, and presented His body a Living Sacrifice for the sins of the world,
we too must present our bodies a living sacrifice unto Him, holy and acceptable, so that we can live in righteousness. This is our reasonable service. God has already paid the penalty for our sins with his life. Therefore, we can become renewed in our minds without fear of having to sin in our bodies.
We can then boldly prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
So, let us as sons and daughters of Jesus Christ, Renew Our Minds to Him, not conforming to the ways of the world through sin, but with a grateful, submitted,
and commited life to God.
This is our 'Reasonable Service', and our 'Renewed Mind' fully submitted unto Him.
